Personal care aides and companion caregivers support Northern Virginia families under a written plan and supervision.

What the work is

PCAs help with activities of daily living and related support. Companion work emphasizes presence and supervision. Neither role is licensed nursing, and neither is ABA therapy.

Qualifications

Virginia 12VAC5-381-290 lists multiple home-attendant pathways. A CNA is one pathway, not the only one. Annual personal-care inservice is at least 12 hours under current 12VAC5-381-360.

Pay

Compensation varies and is confirmed during recruiting. This page does not publish an hourly wage. Medicaid reimbursement is not your paycheck.
